This is one of the best fifth string capo that I have ever used. Very simple design, but does the job well on my gibson 250. Don't damange your fret board by drilling holes. Drop some spare change on Earl and have him send you one of these. You won't regret it.-------Update-on using this capo on stage I found there was a problem. Sometimes the capo will jump off the banjo in the middle of playing a song. Not sure if I am attaching it wrong or it is a weakness in the capo itself. I decided to install spikes in the neck, even though I shed a tear each time I installed one in my Crafters of Tennessee gold plated beauty.
