'm only halfway through this book, but I'm loving every bit of it. I'm new to the banjo and also have Pete Seeger's book. RS Banjo is very well written by someone who is an experienced, engaging, knowledgeable teacher. I was about to abandon the banjo; then I found this book and it's full speed ahead. The book has very clear and helpful instructions and approach, backed up by videos at YouTube and the midi tab files included in the download.

The book is free, but would be worth paying for. The section on tunings is super and by itself is worth making the effort to get and read.

The format is Acrobat PDF. I printed mine out in double-sided fashion. The page layout work is spot on.
