If you are looking for volume along with a punchy, edgy tone, this bridge cannot be beat! I bought this for a Whyte Laydie banjo (old pot with Reiter neck). I could never get the sound I wanted from the banjo, so I tried this bridge. It made such a difference that I decided to try it out on my OME Otis Taylor. I've been playing amateur gigs with a small group of people, and have been wishing my banjo had more volume. WOW! This bridge really does the trick! The banjo sounds about 40% louder and has a lot of punch and clarity. I am going to try the Emerson II "Sweet Power" bridge as well, as I won't always want that much volume.
Really, if you are looking for a loud, edgy tone this bridge will do that for your banjo!

I own a Gibson RB-3. I've been sanding my bridges down for years to get good crisp tone and then giving up some bass for the trouble. Last weekend I received Kellys bridge. This bridge is fabulous in every way. My RB-3 rings with more sustain, it's crisp and clear with lots of treble but no loss of bass. I'm finding it hard to put my banjo down! I would not change this bridge in any way. I will order more of the same in the future. |
