Named engraved with oak leaf pattern. Awesome work, and great customer service. One of the buttons had fallen out of the packaging and I was sent another right away! Cool guy! |

I searched on line for "THE" strap and Dave came through unquestionably. In a word ... exquisite ! His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and delivery time were not compromised, given he's a "one-man operation". And, for the outstanding quality, personalized design, & artistic workmanshp that go into each piece, the price is simply unbeatable. You won't find a better strap for your money. Search all you want. If only the BEST will do, look no further. |

Just received my two straps I ordered, and I have to say they are both great! One just has the acorn/oak leaf pattern and the other is plain with an oval conho and shoulder pad. Dave worked with me over the phone (my wife says I'm high maintenance) and both straps came out nothing less than perfect. Have patience with email, or if your anecy just call Dave, he's a great fella. Thanks Dave! |

I bought a plain strap in medium brown from Dave. This strap is absolutely beautiful. It is a pleasure to wear. He gave me lots of help in making my decision and it arrived quicker than promised. |

This was a gift from my mother for Christmas. I ordered directly from David, and I'll be one of many who say that their straps are first rate in EVERY detail. Just tell David what you want, and I'm sure that you will be satisfied with the results. He is a loyal supporter of the BHO, and gives us folks discounts on his straps! First Rate, and First Class!!!
Thanks David |

Great service: I sent a Pay Pal after supper on Nov 28th and here it is the 1st of Dec. and guess what the mailman delivered today!? Dave goes by Dogwood here at the Hangout & has a link to his site.
Custom design: I called Dave, described my peghead, and he directed me through his website. He had an exact replica of my inlay. I had no idea what it was and he was kind enough to give me the history and background. I learned that I have a clone of an old Vega #9. I chose dark Cordovan for the leather, he's got other color choices too.
Product: I tried it out today. It actually makes my banjo seem lighter. I can hardly feel the strap while standing. I attend 1 jam a week and play while standing. I'm telling you right now my back and shoulder will appreciate this after the 3 hour session.
Design: I went with the one piece. Dave told me to take a cloth measuring tape, like a seamstress uses, and measure the hook to hook length of my old strap. I provided this to Dave and the new 1 piece strap has my banjo sitting "exactly" where my old strap had it.
Screws: I went with Chicago, Nickel. The ends slip under the hook easily, I didn't want a strap that threads around the "pot" through a number of the hooks. And I didn't want to have to loosen up a hook and nut to attach the strap. The srews have a nice tooling as well.
Overall: I know where I'm going for my next strap. Now all I need is another banjo! Feel free to contact me through BHO if you have any questions.

Beautiful Stuff.!!! Awesome bridle leather. I cannot figure out how he makes any money doing this. He spent an hour on the phone figuring out exactly what I wanted and then talked me out of making mistakes. Settled on oak leaves and acorn with my name on the strap. He matched the dye to the Deering model I own. He advised against it , but I put a ratchet extension in a vise and worked the strap back and forth until it was soft as a baby's bottom. Lots of folks ask about where I got it , but I ain't talkiin' He has a Website, but forget about e-mail. I think that the dog in the picture lifted a leg on his computer. Open up the order form and give him a call at the number listed and he picks up the phone. |
