I put the Banjomate in my banjo about a year ago and noticed some minor difference in sound/tone and pretty much forgot it was there. I recently purchased a new banjo and was cleaning it and forgot about the Banjomate in the old banjo. So I decided to try it in the new one and maybe it works differently in different banjos, but the change was huge as the volume and sharpness of notes came out and also seemed to increase the sustain. I then turned it 45 degrees and it sounded completely different. Mellowed out the sharpness , increased sustain and lost some volume. I was very surprised at the results and kept switching back and forth and coudn't decide which I liked best. It depends on which song I was playing. I think this thing needs a remote control to change positions for each song. This new banjo will NOT be played without it. This gadget really works and is a must for someone looking for that little extra in sound without breaking the bank . Thanks Banjomate!!! |

The Banjomate Tone Enhancer is a great little product that actually works! It brings out a little extra in a banjo. It installs easily inside the resonator and doesn't harm any parts or affect the setup. After multiple experiments with location and position, I found a "sweet spot" that seems to bring out the best in my banjo by adding a bit of crispness and brightness to the overall tone that I quite liked.

This item DOES work. Very pleased with the volume and tone it produces. Honestly, with the guarantee they provide, you can't go wrong with trying it. Great for entry and intermediate banjos. Tried it on both of mine. I don't have a high-end, so I don't know what effect it would have on one of those. Again, do yourself a favor and get one! |

I volunteered to test this device and add a comment or review .It is amazingly small and lightweight . The purpose of the test was to try it on mid level banjos . I have a mid 70's masterclone which fits the bill.It is my test banjo basically -name on peg head is Univox. The Tone Enhancer is easy enough to "install" .Thats good because I dont do any of the testing on this banjo myself and do basically no modifications on any of my banjos. This product is a metallic , small ,dish shapped device. It attaches inside the resonator with a small velcro pad. Two are provided so you can move it around a bit. I tried it near the heel and then more towards the middle . The effect is immediate. This old banjo has a much brighter , sharper tone now. I think the tone is brighter when the Tone Enhancer is placed nearest the heel. I moved it back to the middle to avoid any harshness . I also put heavier strings on than I have ever used on this banjo. That evend out some of the frequecnies I was hearing. This old Korean masterclone will never sound like a professional quality instrument but the Tone Enhancer has definitely brightened it up and made it much louder. It is maybe the cheapest instantly effective change you can make to a banjo tone. The Tone Enhancer is a neat little idea and worth picking up if you want to juice up a mid range resonator banjo. |

The product is larger than I expected. It fits well inside resonator. very adjustable for different tones. Easy install with a small piece of velcro. It also came with extra velcro. |

I was a unsure of this product. Thinking it would be just another gimic. Wow was I wrong. I installed this on my Rk80. After trying it in several positions i found the one i liked best. You can really change the tone just by rotating this product. Very cool. While I dont see this item making a huge difference on a top ofthe line custom, it really did make a difference on my RK80. This banjo was good before but sounds better now. Dont dismiss this product! For $20.00 its worth it. |

n/a unless you have a clear head--even if you do it still wouldn't look that bad since it is made out of a thin sheet of brass. I'm not too crazy about sticking the adhesive to the inside of my resonator, but I guess there is no other way to do it. |

I heard that the old timers used to put a pie plate inside the resonator of their banjo to perk it up a bit. When I saw the Banjomate Tone enhancer I thought it would have the same effect, so I figured that I would try one out. You can't go wrong with the price. It gives the banjo a lot of bang for not a lot of buck. Excellent add-on to a banjo of any quality for that extra zing! |

I have an old parts banjo. It sounds pretty good. It has a lot of highs naturally but lacks lows. I installed the BANJOMATE Tone Enhancer and it really brought out the mids, and lows. |

It does seem to me that once the word is out on these, they would be built out of stiffer material in order to maintain that perfect tone at all times, but since it dosen't get touched, everything should be fine |

I think that this is a good product. I hope that people don't decide aginst buying one because they think their banjo couldn't benifit. It is what it is ... a tone Enhancer |
