I play the Banjoblaster through a Line 6 Spider amp. I like to fool with the effects, and I also use a Boss phase shifter on tunes like "Telstar". I also play the Banjoblaster though a Pocket Rock-it and one of those Danelectro mini amps. |

Setup
|
There isn't much to the setup. The neck is similar to an electric guitar neck. No need to fool with anything on the instrument. String height, etc. all ok. |

Appearance
|
It looks cool- flat black body with a silver and black phenolic top. I had ordered the cherry red finish, but received the silver and black. No matter, it is a knockout! No flaws, everything was in top shape. |

Reliability
|
No problems after nearly five years of constant playing. The only thing that happened was the plastic knob on the pickup switch fell off, and I glued it back on the stem. No big deal. |

I wrote to the company telling them how much I enjoyed the Banjoblaster, and they sent me a free T-shirt! |

The two lipstick tube pickups are nice. I don't know what the body is made of (ash, maybe) but it's light, making the instrument easy to pick up and carry around. I really appreciated this feature when I was laid up with a broken leg in 2001. |

The Banjoblaster is a lot of fun to play, and well worth the money. I have never played a Deering Crossfire, but the Banjoblaster fully satisfies my need to step out and get wild from time to time. When I tire of it, I pull out my Mastertone. The only thing is the necks are different and I can't jump from one to the other without some re-orientation. Oh well, a small price to pay for a LOT of fun! Highly recommended to expand your banjo world. |
