wood peg tuners

this was a real challenge and still do not grip I will eventually install planetary tuners with paduka wood knobs

Are you sure they are not gripping - or are the strings still just stretching? If hey are not gripping, put a little violin rosin on the pegs, and they will grip. Friction pegs are actually better than planetaries for nylon or nylgut strings - you need to turn the planetary pegs too much for the equivelant change of pitch. I have nylgut banjos strung with both types of pegs, and from my experience, these pegs you have now are the best kind for this type of string.

I agree with Marc. I have a small bottle of violin solution specifically designed to stop slipping pegs. Put on a drop and it solves the problem. David E.
