This is NOT a Vermeer painting

Airing it out

But the photographer, her oldest son, did a fine job of capturing the light coming in the hospital window. This was one of the last pictures of the woman known to many of my HangOut friends as the Late Great Irene.

Lovely woman. There is character in that face. I know you miss must really miss her this time of year. I miss my boy a lot this time of year - he was our Christmas elf....always made us laugh. You miss that, especially when the rest of the family is manic-depressive....or me. It's funny how a person plays a part in a family and what a big old hole is left when they are gone. I don't think God loses track of people like that. I think that's why this Earth is what it is - I think it's a place to make people like Irene and Micah and I don't think God wants to lose someone that wonderful any more than we do. I look forward to finding out for myself. Merry Christmas my friend.
