One GOOD picture of Irene
Posted 12/27/2009 4:18:01 PM
The camera hated her, and she hated the camera. Hundreds of photos taken, very few showed her nicely. This is one of MY favorites.
Somebody shot this while she was doing dishes, back around 1974.
I haven't got a way (yet) to put the old photos directly into my computer, so I tacked this to a box, and took a digital picture of the old color print. In this rendition, her hair appears reddish-brown. Never was. Black, thick, usually cut rather short.

My Sweet Baboo hates the camera too. I keep complaining that If she doesn't let me take some picture of her then after she's dead, I won't remember what she looked like. She always wants to pose - bad idea. She has this grimace that she calls a smile and she does it every time you point a camera at her. So my collection of pictures of her are all taken with a telephoto or like your Irene's pic above, a sneak attack shot! She hates those. The best we've made recently was a series my daughter demanded we let her take - actually demanded her Mom take, because I'm always up to have my pretty face immortalized on film. I got her laughing and these were the result.....

Forgot you can't leave photo comments. That's what happens when you nap on Christmas Day at my ages - you lose skills.....
