Hit & Run on my Bicycle.
Posted 7/4/2012 8:35:14 AM
I was about to Midland Collage (~11th & Pebble) a Dark Colored SUV clipped me with their mirror from behind, tore my shirt, and scraped up my arm (I couldn’t see the driver). They didn’t stop or even slow down. Luckily my shirt sleeve tore away and I maintained my balance. I couldn’t get the license number because of sweat on my glasses and just being surprised from the event but I could tell that it was from out of town. (I had my front & rear flashers on and a bright yellow back pack; I am not exactly hard to miss). There was no traffic, no parked cars, I was riding near the curb, and I didn’t even see anybody around for a witness.
I SWEAR; to God and everybody else if a vehicle comes close enough to me again I will take off their mirror and kick in their fenders and let you explain the damage to the cops, your insurance, and your spouse. There is a law in this state that an auto must keep at least two feet away from a cyclist.
