Shellac seal coat, pore-filled with black drywall compound, two coats Tru-Oil, pores filled again, two more coats Tru-Oil. Plenty more to go. It's feeling pretty smooth. I think I'm two coats away from the Tru-Oil filling the remaining pores, then it's build from there.
