What can you say that hasn't been said about Tony ? I love his sense of humor on stage and how open he is to the audience. He's such an innovator and I suppose he's influenced as many players as anyone. The banjo is like a piano in his hands where you sometimes feel like he's discovered some new note, never played ! Amazing. I love the way he talks about the banjo player and how he encourages them to find their own way of playing, especially through writing their own tunes. There's a great short you tube video of him shot at what looks like Christmas time where he makes such comments. He's recording his tune "Zoe" and playing a Deering Hartford. Magic to me to see him play such a sweet tune on John's signature instrument.
