Well, actually yes, now that you mention it. This is wood I milled myself several years ago that eventually became the wood I used for my block rims and necks. I had been given a bunch of nice hickory and cherry. As this photo shows, I rough cut the logs with the chain saw. Then I dried it for 3 years, then planed it to dimension. As I suspected at the time, the cherry made better necks and the hickory made better rims.
