I heard this fiddle tune in the early 60s on The New New Lost City Ramblers album Gone to the Country. It's not quite the way they play it, just how it decided to roll out of my banjo. You can hear a sample of their version and the other album tracks at http://www.smithsonianglobalsound.org/trackdetail.aspx?itemid=6809
