Here is a banjo song I wrote a few years back. I decided it was time to bring it out of the closet for my daughter's wedding hence the name of the song is Ellie's song. There are a few influences from a great friend in Memphis Bob Bowen who gave me an idea for a small part of the song while setting indian style in the floor of my apartment with a banjo torn down to re assemble and set up. I played banjo and mandolin. Fiddle Matt Combs. Guitar Kenny Smith, and bass Mike Bubb. It was recorded at Digital Underground and Scott Vestal is a wizzard. I had a great time doing it and it was a much needed respite from the tension of the 3rd child/ 3rd wedding of the year. Yes you read it right 3 children, 3 weddings this year over a 4 month period. Enjoy!

This is/was my idea for the song for my daughter and myself to walk down the aisle to at her wedding last Saturday (7/14/2012). I enlisted the help of several of my good friends. I played mandolin and guitar, Kenny Smith played guitar, Matt Combs played fiddle, and Mike Bubb played bass. The production may seem a bit weird but it had to be that way for the wedding party to come in. Ellie and I came in at the triple fiddle break. It was recorded at Digital Underground, Scott Vestal is the man! I wanted a venue for some people to hear it and here on the hangout is the best place I know. I'm also posting a song I wrote for the exit from the ceremony.

Matt Combs, Steve Huber, and myself live November 10th at sold out Boys and Girls Club event in Columbia Tn. Steve is playing an original flathead, 5 string, Wreath RB-3. This was the first song of the set. Steve mostly doing Scruggs style back up but you can tell what the banjo has to offer.

Matt Combs and Steve Huber recreate the classic Paul Warren and Earl Scruggs version of this old great song. Recorded live at Columbia State Community College November 10th 2011. The banjo backup work and great fiddling makes you feel like you were back in the 50's at a Flatt and Scruggs show.
