This is a combination of some licks from Beethoven's "Fifth Symphony" added to John McEuen's "Miner's Night Out" and an original tune of mine entitled, "Roundout." Irv Wright on dobro, the late Ray Peterson on guitar, my wife, Lynn, on bass and I'm on banjo.

This is my arrangement of the flamenco tune by Ottmar Liebert. When I first heard Liebert play this on the guitar, I thought, "this should be played on a banjo!" My wife, Lynn, plays bass on this arrangement, playing the bass with a bow in the intro. and the ending of this tune. Thanks, Lynn! Irv Wright is on dobro and the late Ray Peterson is on guitar.

Jerry Reed's popular tune from the movie, "Smokey And The Bandit." I put this arrangement together in response to an email request I received from fellow BHO member, "Furman's Student," Monty from Greenville, SC. I couldn't think of a better tune to post in remembrance of Jerry Reed and Bobby Thompson. Thanks for the inspiration, Monty!

This is a tune I wrote back in July of 2006. The tune was inspired while watching some young prairie dogs playing and chasing each other in and out of their holes. They were certainly having fun and I tried to make the tune convey that playfulness. I hope you enjoy it. My wife, Lynn, is on bass and I'm on banjo and guitar.

Ennio Morricone's great theme to the movie, "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly" done on banjo...complete with the whistling and "Hoo-Hah's." ;^) I was inspired to come up with this arrangement by my guitar picking buddy, Wyatt Troxell, and (believe it or not) "The Ukulele Orchestra Of Great Britain!" This tune was a big challenge. My wife, Lynn, is on bass and "Hoo-Hah's;" I'm on banjo, guitar, whistling and "Hoo-Hah's." :^D I hope you enjoy it!

I posted this in response to someone looking for an easy, Scruggs-style version of the tune. (It was tab they were looking for, but I don't have any tab for this tune, so I posted an audio.)
Some folks don't like to capo up to 7, but in this case, I don't think it sounds too high. It's just a simple, straight rendition of the tune.
