This is a catchy tune that the Dillards used to do back in the day. The banjo is a mid 30's Style 2 Gibson Conversion. It has a brighter sound than the banjo I usually play but it sounds pretty good on some of these old school tunes.

I wanted to record this banjo before I sold it. It sold to Cody Hill who lives in Indiana. It's an old Frankenstein banjo that has the old sound. I put the recording together in about 10 or 15 minutes so it's a little sloppy but still got it going pretty fast.

I played my all Metal banjo even the neck for this clip. Scrubbed it up good with my playing all the other instruments. Anyway this metal banjo sounds pretty darned good. There are some pics of it on my photos section. If I rode a Harley this would be the one I'd play at Bike Week....

It's a super tune with a bluesy sound. I added some of my own stuff too it so I hope I didn't mess it up too bad. I played all the instruments and recorded it in a rush. The fiddle sounds like a crack head is playin it and it got a little busy...

Here is a song I used to do back in the day. I had about forgotten it but it was a good tune to wake the crowd up.
I played all the parts but fouled up because I put the banjo part down first and didn't realize I dropped a beat after the first rotation. I started to redo it and said the heck with it and just recorded around it as best I could. I picked up this old Baldwin B model at a pawn shop last week. Dusted it off, tightened the head and put new strings and bridge and it sounds pretty good.

Recorded this tonight when My band was over. We did this just messing around and recorded it on One Microphone. The fidelity isn't the best but I like the hardcore bluegrass sound that this song brings forth.

About all the Pike County anyone can handle. Recorded this one a while back, when I owned a few Hubers. Trey (Major banjo now owns the Lexington) Randy Miller (Vintage Series), Danny Gabbard (Lancaster), Shane O'donnel (Kalamazoo). The Hubers are fine banjos.

This is one that Lee Marcus wrote. It's a great tune. I heard O.D's version a couple of weeks ago and I really liked it. Mine's a little rough as I am still trying to get some of those runs smooth. Some of Lee's phrasing is a little unorthodox for me but they really sound good. Thanks Lee for being so talented and providing us something cool to work on.

Haven't been playing much the last few years. Been getting back after it the last couple of weeks after about a 3 year hiatus from pickin.
I have forgotten how to use that complicated recorder I have. It's a wonder that I got anything to come out. I played all the instruments and am rough on them as I haven't played any in the last 3 years.
