My Instruments:
I have three lovely Chuck Lee banjos. Two have skin heads, but the one I usually travel with has a synthetic one. They all have 11 inch pots. I also own a John Bowlin 1865, a Kevin Enoch banjo uke, a 1920 something Vega White Laydie, a Gold Tone cello banjo, and a tenor (although I have no idea why I have this because it is never played).
Favorite Bands/Musicians:
When I grow up, I want to play banjo like Adam Hurt.

A demo of a nice tune in Double D tuning that is popular in the Albuquerque area. I liked it when I heard Wayne Shrubsall do it (see youtube under banjojudy) and decided to learn it on my own - no tab, just by ear, and here it is. I think I speeded up as I got more comfortable playing it, though.

THis is just the fiddler playing this tune. It is uploaded to help you learn to play it in double d tuning with the G string not raised. This is usually an Open G tune, but I like it in this tuning.

In A tuning, here's a fiddle only version of the Tune of the Week (September 7, 2008), played by David Margolin in Albuquerque a few years ago. Good practice to play along with this version, IMO.

This is a version done by a local band, Hands Five, in Albuquerque. There is no banjo in the recording, but it is still a good version of a great tune.

My friend, Yigal Zan (he is playing this, not I), says he is the only one he knows who plays this. So perhaps it has another title - I'll let you all listen and let me know what you think about it, and its title.

This is just the fiddle version. You can slow it down and play along nicely using Windows Media Player if you want. Not sure what Mac users do to slow things down.
