This is the third of 3 sound clips from my niece's wedding. She asked me to play banjo to back up a friend of hers that was singing Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.
It was an honour to play this tune for my niece and to back-up to this wonderful vocalist.

My niece asked me to play this at her wedding this summer. I'll actually be playing backup to a vocalist, so this won't be the arrangement that I play at the wedding. I just wanted to play with the melody and see what I could come up with. I tried to keep it as reverent as I could.

It's a quiet Saturday morning here in Winnipeg. The sky is overcast and it's forecast to rain all weekend. Seemed like a nice opportunity to play my banjo and try recording a track. This arrangement is from Jens Kruger's Homespun DVD. Hope I've played it OK.

This is a swing tune that I've tried to learn from a CD I bought recently. I couldn't get the tune out of my head, so I thought I'd have a try at learning to play it on the banjo. Apologies to the John Jorgenson Quintet. By the way, the JJ Quintet appeared at the Winnipeg Folk Festival a couple of weeks ago, and they were absolutely amazing!

Heard a great posting of this song, played as an up-tempo bluegrass tune on the BHO today. Inspired me to learn the song and to try my hand at arranging again. This is a pretty simple "contemplative" sounding arrangement.
