My Instruments:
I am currently the steward of an incredible bluegrass banjo and an open-back by Canadian luthier Hugh Hunter. Both are made with american walnut in a block rim construction.

Favorite Bands/Musicians:
"Crooked Still" and "Outlow Social" are currently my favorite bands. Virginia has a lot of local talent, too, such as Orange Line Special, Frank Solvan II, Leah Coryell ... the list goes on. Favorite players are Mark Johnson, John Lawless, the late (great) Mike Seeger, Steve Martin...to name a few. My favorite teacher is the father-son team of Pat & Patrick Costello -- I like clawhammer and bluegrass about equally, but I'm working on my frailing skills now.
