My Instruments: Deering Goodtime. Gold Tone WL-250. I also have a 19th century no-name. Looks to be an amalgamation of a mid-century neck on a late-century pot, but I don't know much about those things. It sounds like crap, but is purty. Home-made Cookie Tin Banjo, 2007.
Favorite Bands/Musicians: Camp Creek Boys, Lunceford, Tim Eriksen, Fuzzy Mt., Mike Seeger, you know...

I was in an IRC shop in metro Indy today and picked up (literally picked up, as in just to play with - I didn't purchase it) a baritone ukelele. A friend of mine has one of these that he rarely (never) plays. I was surprised to find it tuned DGBbD. Is this common? It was fun to mess with - a pleasant surprise, especially considering my newfound interest in Gm tuning.
Observations: - Now that I've been learning CH banjo, I am almost unable to strum any stringed instrument in a normal fashion: I now seem to NEED to use the clawhammer hand and to CH (if that's an appropriate verb) the bottom string.
- CH-ing the bottom D string on a baritone ukelele does not produce a pleasant effect.
