NEW BANJO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010 @8:37:33 PM

Hello Banjo Hangout folks,

Up until now I haven't had much to say since my original post but today I have some fantastic news... I just bought a new banjo!! It's a used Gibson Mastertone RB-250 (1994) and it sounds fantastic!!  It's a beast compared to my light-weight Rover RB-45 but this banjo makes me sounds a lot better than I really am.

Woo-hoo!

Stay tuned for pictures... coming soon.

Congratulations on your new banjo. I really liked the RB-250 I had. I made a mistake when I traded it in on my openback banjo. I should have just kept it and paid for the openback in full.

Yeah, I owned an RB 250 in 1973, sold it to return to college. I'd rather have had that banjo back! Say, do you know Dan Balmer? I went to college with his brother Andy. (Andy had a Whyte Lady at the time but he wouldn't let me play it...lol). They are both in Portland, the most beautiful city I have ever visited. You've got a beautiful Sequoia growing out there!

When I brought my new banjo, practicing was given a whole new light. You feel that you can progress faster some how. Good luck with it and enjoy.
