In 20 words or less, can you outline your approach to teaching someone to play banjo, Scruggs style?

More or less this: Posture, hand placement, rhythm, melody, listening, adjust accordingly.
I make that 12.

Hand placement, pick placement, rhythm, backbeat, rolls, melodic line, ornamentals (hammering, pulling off, sliding & choking), transposable shapes, back up. |

My method: In addition to holding the banjo and left hand properly, 1) the three basic chords in G, 2) Learn melody notes with the thumb, 3) Learn forward roll, 4) combine the melody with the rolls. Everything else is an expansion of these basics. |
