My Grandfathers Banjo

I have my Grandfathers EL Bailey tenor banjo. He lived in Brooklyn during the 20's and know that is where the Bailey Banjo's came from.
I have been told that EL Bailey did not number his instruments but this one has a 01 or 10 embossed into the drum shell where the neck attaches.
Can anyone shed light on this?

You might want to post this on the Tenor forum where you'll probably get more answers.
Go to the home page, look on the lefthand side on the page where ti says "community". Click on that and then on "forums" and then look for the Tenor Forum. Post your info there and you'll probably get a lot more feedback than on your blog. Not everyone reads the blogs.
