A Bit of Good News!

Wednesday, July 01, 2009 @1:33:21 PM

My album CROSS OVER THE RIVER has been nominated for Album of the Year - and my song COME BACK KATY was nominated for Song of the Year in the "2009 JP Folk Awards" program - both nominations are in the Traditional/Folk categories.

JP Folk describes itself as the "worlds largest grassroots music organization" and their awards program is by far the biggest in the world. For the 2009 awards they have judged over 42,000 albums and 560,000 songs. I am honored to be listed among the nominees.

The song and the album feature a lot of banjo and some banjola.

By the way; two tracks from this album were used in the Lone Chimney Films production, Bloody Dawn - which just last week ran on KS and MO PBS stations. The DVD will begin general distribution later this month.

I've added an MP3 of COME BACK KATY to the Music page above.

Congrats Jed that's great news. Being nominated IS an honor but I'll be pulling that you take home the top prize! Keep us posted.
