My teacher JOEMAC (other teachers are available)

Friday, June 15, 2012 @7:17:46 AM

If you are looking for a teacher, they dont come much better. Its strange, but like driving a car, not all teachers can teach all budding Belas. His "do it to enjoy it" approach works well with me. If you chose to approach him for lessons dont expect him to do all the work for you,  you have to put the effort in too! The first question I was asked was "what was my ambition with the banjo"  Well that has changed from playing in jams, bang out blog after blog to a more realistic play to enjoy and to your best ability. Last night I reached another milestone D-TUNERS!!!!! LOOKOUT!

Joemac is a 'real' banjo teacher. You are fortunate to have found him. He has a passion for playing and seeing that folks enjoy learning. In a world of guitar playing 'pseudo' teachers, someone like that really is a gem.

Hey Kidd if the truth be told I reckon I drive crazy each time I go to the man! I went with Schallers (hope the survive my neck wringing action) but only coz a peg on the OME gave up. Passion is the right word plus the honesty, he tells you as it is, it can smart somtimes but it is the truth.

But I haven't thrown my twopennorth in yet. The workshops were a joy to be involved with. Not just because of Joe and Bob the guitarist, but because of the great people who showed up and the easy atmosphere that was generated. Joe's wonderful teacher and friend, but a saint ? Not yet :-P
