Sullivan V-35 Drawing Winner

Wednesday, July 25, 2012 @2:39:15 PM

Congratulations to Carl Kishpaugh of Frakes, KY, winner of the drawing for a custom Sullivan V-35 banjo! This will be one fine banjo, and Carl gets his pick of maple or mahogany, and can choose to have a speed neck if desired.

And of course, a huge thanks to our friends at Sullivan Banjo Company for sponsoring the drawing. They've been a long-time supporter of the Banjo Hangout, and we certainly appreciate it!

Hmm... you guys spelled my name wrong. Its not spelled anything like "Carl Kishpaugh", and I don't live in Frakes, Kentucky. But I'll take maple, no speed neck. Thanks!

I was sure I would win this time. I was equally sure on the last drawing. No worries, the glass is still half full....in fact I may need another glass.

Congratulations

Thanks everyone!

I just signed in and saw this and I'm still not sure, that I'm not dreaming. It would be safe to assume that I'm pretty excited about this. I posted a post a few days ago on "Other Banjo Related Topics", ( in jest) asking for advice on whether to have this banjo built from maple or mahogany and whether to have it speed necked or not and the first thing I thought of when I read that I was the winner was....someone is pulling my leg because of the post. It is to far from April first for this to happen isn't it????

Well it's definitely going to be maple kirbonite, but I'm still kinda back and forth on the speed neck.

I want to thank Eric and the Sullivan banjo Company for the opportunity to win this fine instrument. I've been reading up on the Sullivan banjos and I'm really impressed with what I seen and read. I've never played a Sullivan, but I'm certainly looking forward to doing so. Thanks again to everyone responsible for this great opportunity, and to all you guys and gals that have sent congratulations this way.

Thanks Levi! If I post pictures, I'll have to sell my banjo to buy a camera. Maybe whoever I sell it to will let me hold it and take a picture for me so I can post it. Lol.

Just kidding, I think this banjo and me are gonna get along quite well.

Id go there and pick a few, see what you like as far as feel for the speed neck, and see if you can take one home that day, or you'll be forever getting it.

I'm probably calling tomorrow to set up a time to go down there, but as I understand it, they will be building the banjo. I have been invited to pick some banjos there though. Should be a fun trip!

AR50, it probably wouldn't do you any good. I think I used up all the luck it had in it winning this banjo. :)
