Well, I figured I would post a quick ramble about where I am with the banjo.

I finally got through Train 45, and moved on through Foggy Mountain Breakdown without too much trouble. Once I learned Train 45, the Foggy fell into place within a couple of weeks. Last week I learned the up the neck part to Lonesome Road Blues, and now I'm learning the down the neck part. That song is one of my favorites!

I feel like the learning is coming very quickly now compared to when I was starting out. At times when I start a new lesson I feel like the pieces of the puzzle won't come together. But they always do.

Last night is a perfect example. I started my LRB lessons late and nothing was working. But I know I'll get it in the next couple of days with repetition. Also, every time I pick it up, I feel like I learn something new. Things just seem to work better if I play them over and over.

My teacher is outstanding. Can't say enough positive things about Ned's instruction.

A new Levy's strap and capo will arrive either this week or the next. I'm also planning to take my jo up to Gallatin maybe this week to get railroad spikes installed. Also, if my strap arrives, I'm thinking about going out to the Full Moon Picking Party on Friday at Warner Park in Nashville. 

I absolutely love playing my banjo. It is my favorite part of every day.
