Developing callouses

Hi there.
I've been playing for about 18 months and am progressing well but am struggling to develop callouses on my left hand fingertips. I swapped to medium light strings and they started to form but the tone suffered. For pull offs, I have to trap string between fingertip and nail, a push off I guess. Any suggestions please.

Playing for 18 months and how much do you pratice a day? If you don't pratice much then the callouses take a long time to get there. I practice about 4 hours a day and wish I could give you some of my callouses. They will come with time and pratice. |

No secret here. Go with heavier strings, if that doesn't do it, go heavier.....and press harder. Make m sore, the fingers will start protecting themselves.
