22 months today
Thursday, June 21, 2012 @3:49:39 PM
Today I looked at the calander and it has been 22 months of playing the Banjo! I play just about everyday, although I don't jam with other people as much as I would like I guess because of work and stuff but I did bring the Banjo to a cookout and just started playing by myself and I notice people find it pretty entertaining even if they don't like Bluegrass.I do practice toMark Becks MP3's (I hope he has still quit smoking) also I practice to the Amazing slowdowner, and when I get a chance since I can play Guitar and a couple of chords on the Mandoline , I will record a tune on a 4 track machine. I do notice that during the week I tire faster so sometimes I can have a few rough nights of practice and other times like on a Saturday afternoon I am ready to go! Everything sounds good.I notice sometimes I might leave a capo on all week and at the end of the week when I go to take it off I might play a little rusty now that I have to stretch my fingers more, anyway it is all part of the process and if you told me I would be where I am at right now two years ago I would sighn up.Take care ya'll and keep on pickin!

Way to go man. I'm at about 18 months myself. I keep thinking I'm going to post some of my stuff from the jam sessions, but I seem to never get to it. Maybe one day. Anyway, it seems we don't make any progress, but then I go back and listen and it's as you said, it's a long way from when I started. a pickin' we will..... |
