Birthday! And my Cat has asthma....
Monday, August 13, 2012 @12:44:14 PM
Nothing like seeing your cat go into a total siezure and pass out momentarily-which my Dad got to witness-took an emergency trip to the vet and discovered that one of the cats has asthma. She's hidden it well-I do recall she had a oddball coughing spell once in a blue blue moon but thought it was a crumb of food in her throat or something. That happened 2x over the past year and a half. Luckily, she's fine and on meds, then in a week and a half she'll be on an inhaler 2x every 24 hrs. (at this point in time anyway) An estimated 1% of cats have asthma and the increased air pollution is causing the numbers to increase.
And I'm another year older today-the banjo you see to your left was an early b day gift, and I also got a pocket watch and a Hugh Laurie CD/DVD set of "Let Then Talk". As a result,I'm learning some blues on banjo, and working on "Two White Horses" and "St James Infirmary" for my Halloween song list. And learning the alternating thumb roll.
The weather has been absolutely horrible the past week-hot,humid,and till today no end in sight. I've drank more G2's this past week than I normally drink all summer!
I have felt much better after leaving the part time job and the biz is holding me up-I've had to watch spending, but a small exchange for being multi tasked to death.
Been getting into refurbishing autoharps and learning to play one. Got captivated by watching Janette Carter play with Mike Seeger on a "Learn Carter Family Style Guitar" DVD. So far I'm playing a 1963 Oscar Schmidt 12 chord just like Janette has on the DVD. I'm working on a book for 12 chord autoharp as everyone seems so hep on the 15 & 21 chord models. And I started an Autoharp players forum. For more info,do contact me. :-)

Happy birthday Banjo-belle! My, you have been busy & picking up a new instrument too. Where do you find the time? I had a banjo crisis over the summer. Couldn't seem to do anything right or as I used to. I kept plugging away & am getting over the crisis now tho. I bought a Recording King R35 in July, so I'm picking up bluegrass again. Found a teacher too. Looking forward to starting with him soon. Take care & I hope the cats okay now. |
