Not so good again
Thursday, June 21, 2012 @10:44:18 PM
A brief update to all the folks on here who have been supportive in the past.
The Tennis Elbow has beaten me! After 2 years of injections and Physio, I've had to give in and consent to surgery.
I have a consultation in July and hopefully surgery not long after. The good news is, me and a friend have decided to play at amateur luthier and make ourselves some banjos - mostly as neither of us can play at the moment, but we both have the time and tools to have a go!
Hopefully I'll be as good as I ever was real soon!

Sorry to Hear that Adam, hope all goes well with the Surgery, and looking forward to Hearing that Homemade Banjer ! |

I will be interested in the results of surgery. I fight some pretty bad combined tennis & golf elbow from bad blacksmithing practices. Discomfort just will not go away. Brad |

alfiedog: the homemade is a prototype made of offcuts of a mixture of woods to see what can be produced and whether we still enjoy it at the end of it! Perhaps then we'll invest in some proper lumber and hardware!
rinemb: what can I tell you? I can only sympathise - my lateral is shot to pieces and that means the medial (golfers) is on it's way too due to overcompensation. I'm on 240mg Codeine a day just to get me to and through work each day, which is not a good long-term strategy.
Results differ depending on the type of surgery. Luckily, we have the NHS so other than waiting a while, I haven't got to pay, but I must admit, if they don't offer the keyhole procedure I'm not convinced the recovery is going to be quick!
I'll let you know! |
