Finally kept one for myself.
Sunday, July 29, 2012 @10:15:19 AM
THANKS to all who have ordered my heads. I've shipped more than forty (40) to-date. Today, I decided to keep one for me. This is on my 2006 Bart Reiter Galax-Plus.

Your logo is very unique - David E gave himself credit for suggesting it.

Thanks Fred ... David did suggest that I use my signature. I guess it is a "tip-of-the-hat" to the old Jos. B Rogers, Jr. logo. |

Think John commented in an earlier thread an was nice to note our conversation about the signature. Regardless, I think it is classy. I want myne stamped with it. David |

I guess the stars are part of the nod to Jos. B Rogers as well, right? Do you rate the heads with a different number of stars? In any case, that head looks great on that banjo. |

David B. I try to pick good hides. But I don't rate them.
These mottled looking goat skins would not have earned Rogers' three-star rating for sure. They did not even offer goat hides. But these days, lots of folks (myself included) like the distressed and stained look rather than bleached white. They sound good too. |

The patina on these heads are all great and certainly a reason for buying one myself; I haven't been able to find any for sale in my country, but with the superb instruction sheet I would've gone for one of John's heads anyway. All the best from Bill. |
