I got interested in folk and bluegrass by frequenting a cafe in my hometown Hoogstraten Belgium . Started of with a folkgroup in 1982 , where I played mandoline and tenorbanjo. By the time I got around 30 I found myself exercising on a 5-string banjo , mainly Scruggsing.
In 2003 I joined Medra. This band did mainly Irish stuff, so I picked up Irish banjo. We also did some bluegrass instrumentals on 5-string. In 2008 we started a real bluegrassband in which I did the mandolin.
Now I'm back in Medra, redirecting in bluegrass and old time country.
