I started working with wood when I was in the 5th grade. I got a-hold of my dad's hacksaw that I found in the basement, found some scrap plywood, and cut some animals out of it. My dad saw me doing it and got me a coping say. Later, I got a Sears jigsaw for Christmas! I love to make something from "stuff" that others might throw away... it just seems like I have a need for that! I started banjo lessons in 1977 on a Japaneese aluminum banjo. Soon after that, I built my first banjo, out of necessity for something better. You can check out my "Condensed History" on my web site. I'm not no fancy pantsy banjo player... I just like to pick... It calms the spirit... if you know what I mean!
