Favorite Bands/Musicians:
Currently I am listening to Jim Reed (exquisite banjo music). I especially like Earl's early Mercury recordings (1949), and Elmer Snowden for 4 string. I love Norman Blake's music. My favorite contemporary clawhammer banjoists are John Balch, Dan Knowles, and Mark Johnson. Then, in no particular order - Sunnyland Slim, Gus Cannon (Cannons Jug Stompers), Papa Charlie Jackson, Charlie Poole and The North Carolina Ramblers, The Allen Brothers, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, Paul O'Dette, Ronn McFarlane, Big Maceo, Tampa Red, Little Johnny Jones, Howlin' Wolf, Smiley Lewis, Professor Longhair, Henry Townsend, Bukka White, Big Bill, and Little Hat Jones
