I enjoy adapting the banjo to non- bluegrass tunes. In the Duck Soup band, I arranges a break to "Ukulele Lady" a tune popularized by the Jim Queston jug band. also, for the dance band, a lead to "Crazy" by Patsy; "House of the rising Sun", and am working out "Hotel California". In Mulligan Stew" I play several Irish tunes in standard and double C tunings. Check out "Old Toy Trains" ,by Roger Miller, a great Christmas tune , banjo works well in it. Just learned an Am tuning "Jerusalem Ridge" . I play other instruments, too, but thats what I've been doing on banjo.
