Playing Since: 1989
Gender: Male
My Instruments: Just the one. An ancient looking open back banjo. The words "Universal Favourite. J.E Brewster. London" are carved on the side of the wood that crosses the pot. Bought it for 75 pounds in Liverpool, England in 1989. It was originally a fretless banjo and somewhere along the line it was fretted. There are dots all the way along the side of the neck to guide the player when it was fretless. But the current frets do not correspond to the position of the dots--which is a little odd. And the dots and embedded stars on the fretboard--obviously positioned before the fretting--are placed unevenly in relation to the frets. Definitely not the prettiest banjo in the world--but I like it.
