Have been dreaming of attending the IBMA's for about 5 years since picking the banjo BACK up,
To me, it was an AMAZING experience. I got to see some old friends- make quite a few new ones, and have tons of fun without spending a fortune doing it. Parking and gas down to TN was about the biggest chunk of my budget- but we PLAN for it to make it all happen.
Though people say the turnout was not what it was in the past. I understand this with festival attendance diminishing and the state of the US economy we all attended the IBMA's with an open mind and heart knowing that some of the BEST pickers in the world would be there! My experiences with the limited time I had there was a great one and would love the honor of going back someday down the road.
I do wish to thank each and every one of you that I got to pick with or talk to.
Learning of the many brand new acts or ones that may have been out for quite a while-
To me this is what these functions are all about.
The vendors were VERY informative and helpful- which helps me to apply it to what I can give.
Thank you Bluegrass Lovers and IBMA!
