Do you ship me the videos? How do I watch them?

When you purchase a lesson video from the Banjo Hangout, this gives you unlimited access to watch this video thru the Banjo Hangout website. Purchased videos are NOT mailed to you--they are simply made available online, anytime you want to watch them!

The lessons you purchase will show up on the main video lessons page once your order is complete.

Do I need special software in order to watch the videos?

Since the lessons are streamed to you in Flash video format (like YouTube), you just need the free Adobe Flash player installed. This software is free, and comes pre-installed on virtually every Windows-based system. You can download Adobe Flash player for PC and Mac here.

How long are the videos?

The videos range in length from less than 2 minutes to over 23 minutes. Click the title of the video from the video lessons homepage to view details of the lesson, including run time.

Once I purchase a video, is there a limit to how many times I can watch it?

There is no limit to how many times you may watch a lesson you have purchased.

Are you ever going to have more videos than I see here?

We hope so! We believe that online video lessons present a valid way for banjo players to improve their skills without physically "sitting in" with a teacher. Additionally, web-based videos are only going to become more popular and usable as Internet connection speeds increase. The Banjo Hangout wants to play a big part in bringing video lessons to the online banjo community, so it is our goal to roll out additional videos in the near future, to make a full "banjo curriculum" available online.

Are there any other materials (tab sheets, etc) that accompany the videos?

Yes! You will be provided with song tablature in PDF and Tabledit (tef) formats, as well as an illustrated lesson book where appropriate (for example, lessons that teach proper hand position and technique).

Are there any free lessons available?

Sure--we've got an archive of YouTube lesson videos you can watch for free. Enjoy!
