Lo Gordon Fretless FH
From Oldpiper on 6/30/2012 10:45:24 AM
I didn't care for the tackhead, so now I've got a Cedar Mountain FH fretless on the way. It will match the LG FH fretted that I have - twins.

Sounds great! I have a matched pair of fretted/fretless Ramseys too, that I love. But...I want to hear more about the tackhead! What kind what it and why didn't you care for it?

What does "FH" stand for?

Model name - Foothill
I don't want to mention the brand of tackhead as it might cause hard feelings.

Strumellia I got the tackhead that Fred owned. While Fred didn't care for it I have several minstrel style banjos and it is an excellent Menzie tackhead with a grain measure pot. It was built originally for a professional player and Jeff used claro walnut, a short scale, and the finish is excellent. This one has peghead tuners that work very well. Good friend John Balch has one of Jeff's tack-heads and for anyone comfortable with a banjo of this style, I think they would enjoy it very much. David E.
