For Sale: Gibson RB-75 J.D. Crowe Blackjack

Like new, Played twice,,, Gibson RB-75 J.D. Crowe Blackjack banjo with hard shell Gibson case. Must sell, bought another banjo, can't play them all. Rich tone with that good Gibson sound. Beautiful Maple wood. Would make someone a nice banjo.

The BLACKJACK is a brand new signature model from Gibson. This 5-string banjo was designed with the vintage 1930's Gibson tone and feel in mind, as well as the elegance & beauty. Now, Gibson offers a mahogany banjo with gold plated metal components, which have been copper flashed, exactly like the vintage gold plated Gibson banjos in the 1930s. The Blackjack model is crafted with premium mahogany for the neck and resonator, and a genuine rosewood fingerboard, as with the standard nickel-plated RB-75 J.D. Crowe model.

The neck is tapered to a V in the back, rather than being totally rounded. Uniquely different from all other current Gibson banjos, the inlay pattern is from an obscure early 1920's Gibson inlay pattern, and is inlaid with genuine mother of pearl.

Also, unique to this model is the copper flashing between the metal and the 24K gold plating on each of the metal parts. The appearance and the resultant tone quality from the copper flashing provides this model with a warm, full and extremely pleasing vintage look and tone quality. The sound is full, round and well balanced, with a rich bottom end and the familiar bell like Gibson ring all the way up the fingerboard. The playing action can be set quite low, making this banjo a dream to play and to hear.
