I am selling my NASA aluminum flat head tone ring originally bought from The American Made Banjo Company about three years ago. I've been using it in my Stealth banjo and enjoyed the different tones I can achieve with it, giving a brighter response similar to a standard bell bronze arch top tone ring, but with a fraction of the weight. I've decided to revert back to a mellower sound and would hold onto the ring, but am in need of a new mic, so reluctantly it's up for sale. They cost $435.00 (£290.00 sterling) new and incidentally are currently out of stock on The American Made Banjo Company website. The tone ring is in good condition bar from the odd small scratch and blemish (see photos) and I am asking £200.00 sterling for a quick sale, including postage. I can accept payment via paypal in British pounds sterling. Please email me with any questions. Thanks. Below is the description from The American Made Banjo Company website.
Thanks to advanced technology by NASA, the MSFC-398 aluminum is the best sounding lightweight alloy in my opinion used for a banjo tone ring. The American Made Banjo Company has available a full size aluminum flathead 20 Hole banjo tone ring cut to the same dimensions as our short skirt Dannick tone ring. Our Aluminum tone ring weighs approximately 18 ounces.
