SOLD For Sale: Brooks Masten 11" 16 shoe Spartan w/ 3 3/8" deep silverspun w/Bacon tone ring

United States, Portland, OR

This is the first silverspun I have done on a "thin rim" drum shell and the first silverspun I have made with my new nickel, that is harder than the other nickel I use. The result is very surprising, the new nickel and the thinner deeper rim have produced a louder and more responsive rim. With the Bacon tone ring it has a very unique focused bass sound and a lot of volume. It combines two things I didn't think I cared for in the past; Thin rims and amber heads to make up what is now my favorite banjo rim model so far. A thin rim is a high quality hard maple 10ply laminate rim that is 1/4" thick, making this a very stable and rigid silverspun rim that is slightly over 1/4" thick when combined with the 20 gauge nickel. It is 3 3/8" deep and sounds it. The neck is residential walnut from Vancouver, WA., that is a deep brown with solid black winter grain running the length of the neck. The walnut has faint curl throughout. This is banjo #170 and I made a few youtube videos, click the url link. Once on the channel click the "see all 24 videos" button and you will see the three recording for this banjo are the first three on the list. Comes with a hardshell bump case. Thanks
