Videos from Clifftop
Tuesday, August 6, 2013 @10:49:20 AM
I just posted a bunch of videos from Clifftop 2013. Four of them were from two rockin' funky sessions with the great Dan Gellert on fiddle and me playing three-finger banjo. It was a humbling experience--Dan is perhaps my favorite fiddler (and banjo player) of all, but his bluesy take on the music is very different from almost everyone else. The other two videos from this batch are of a jam with Grace Forrest--a hot young fiddler from California. My favorite tunes from those sessions didn't get recorded, but the picture and sound are clear and they are a bit more in line with the current norms of old-time music (if there are any).
I keep making the mistake of posting my favorite videos first--which results in the fewest possible viewers (that happened with the videos from Mars Hill). I'll try to remember to post them last next time. I'm told that more videos from C-top will be surfacing in the next few days.
