Just curious if any of you have any cool banjo related tattoos? I was wanting one but there aren't many to choose from already done up. I talked an artist about it and they said to get really good detail, it would have to be about 4 inches or so. I may just settle with something music related.

Here is a cool one, but I bet it took a long time with all the detail.

I saw a guy with a banjo tattooed on his knee. It was big - like six inches long. Kind of funny though --

I bet when I figure out what to get, it will be a good one.

For now, I may just go with something like a Treble Clef in some tribal art. (I also play the piano and some other instruments.) Banjo just grabbed my heart. It is addicting, I think.

I think Sharpies should come in tattoo black, so those of us who don't have tattoos can do our own!
I guess one could do a Henna whatever.
Banjo on my knee....hmmm

I love to play my banjo
I'll play it anywhere.

ohh lord.

that would be great for GG to design a tattoo.

i really want one, but a small one that everyone wont be able to see all the time.

You inspired me to quickly design this simple black and white graphic image of a banjo. I wanted to see for how much detail you'll probably able to get out of a 4" tattoo design.

This image size is a bit over 5"

Judging from my own experience, I'd personally stick with simple and not to detailed of a design if it's going to be small. Tattoos do change over time and the lines start to blur. So, the simpler the detail, the better over time. IMO.

I'm so getting a banjo tattoo - I have one blank spot left on my left arm, been saving it for ages but it's now reserved for a banjo tatt - want to get it done in old school/traditional style, simple, bold lines, a banner saying something (haven't decided what yet).

i was in the tattoo business for a while, and daddy bland is active in it, and does fine work. i'm sure he could chime in. if i had the room left i'd get a traditional style pin-up girl dressed like a country girl, picking a banjo. i have a hula girl on my forearm and always wished i'd gotten her playing a uke.

I have a Banjo tattooed on my chest,

I visited Nashville a couple of years ago & just couldn't walk by the tattoo shop without having it done.

I have tattoos on most other parts of my body including my head but have to say the banjo is my favorite !

I ended up getting a treble clef yesterday. I plan on waiting awhile for the banjo tat until I find just the right image to use. I turned it sideways so it would look like tribal. I like hidden meanings so that is why I did that. I kept it very simple since it went on my neck. No need for a big piece on such a tender area.

This is from American Banjo Camp.

I like the image a lot, simple yet interesting and have been thinking of adding it to my tat collection. I just got to figure out where I want it. I keep mine in places that are easily covered up in more formal settings.

I got the image for this tat from some art nouveau tarot card design off the interweb. Naturally, I replaced the jug of wine with a banjo (as you do). Further up my huge, bulging bicep, you can see a much earlier and totally unrelated piece of ridiculous tattoo art. Aahhh it's only skin!

Can't wait to see it. I figure I better post my banjo pic here otherwise I will change my default pic and forget to show it.

This my fave tattoo so far. I designed this since there weren't any good ones already done up in quick flash art.

My only tattoo is a life-sized Gretsch 6120 peghead on my left bicep. It has never been properly finished, so I am currently in the discussion phase of a "cover-up" project...thinking of a Vega peghead with Gryphon and star...
