I just bought a Paramount Style 1 (one) 19 fret tenor banjo.

The serial number is 11363 . It has the Piano /harp badge on the inside.

Does anyone know what year this banjo was made?

Also, what size should a replacement head be?

thanks

Dave

Your banjo was manufactured in 1922, the second year they were made. It should have the bar style arm rest, not the "hot dog" style that came later. The head is 11 1/8. An excellent source for Paramount heads is Bob Smakula  Great prices and FAST service.

Have fun!

Hi Bob
Thank you Thank you !!!
I looked at some pictures on google and I noticed the Hot dog bun style on other Paramount banjos.
You're right ,mine is not like that.
thanks for the lead on banjo heads!!

Bob,

In 2011 on Banjo Hangout you asked for a source of Paramount serial numbers. I have the same info shown on that website you received. It shows  serial number 11363 as approx. late 1928. Is my info wrong? I recently bought a Paramount A serial # 2771, and according to my info it is a 1924, with the bar style arm rest. Regards, Jim.
