It's Christmas morning already on Okinawa, Merry Christmas Everyone!  I must confess, I didn't get anything banjo-related this year, but I did get a new Lakota Leathers strap for my Gibson Goldrush mandolin, a new set of mandolin strings, and the book "The Mandolin Case" by Tom Bibey.  So, BHO members, what banjo or musically related gifts did Santa bring you?

Tinfoot - Posted - 12/24/2011:  16:31:39

He brought me Bill Me Later via PayPal... :p

-continues to look at tenors-

Swapped my dad's 1952 Gibson J-45 for a brand spanking new Martin D-35.  Maybe not a fair trade but this D-35 is the most responsive guitar I've ever had in my hands.  Also got 3 new vocal microphones, guitar strings and a high dollar speaker cable for my PA system.

I got something better than a new banjo. Another banjo!

Yeah! A nice D P Hopkins Woodie. Light weight, great sound. Different to my Stelling, but in a good way.

Pappy - Posted - 12/24/2011:  18:05:18

A snappy new set of D'Addario exp19 strings for the Blueridge 1060, A National thumbpick (just a wee bit longer than the Golden Gate, which I tend to stab into the D string when picking hard), and a cradle strap for the Eagle II. However, we must rethink the cradle strap on the Eagle, The shoes do not allow enough space to slide underneath the J hooks. As is the tradition in northern Wisconsin, I left Santa a plate of pickled Herring ,cookies and a Beer. Hmm... the cookies are gone....Guess I will enjoy the Beer and herring my self :) Merry Christmas All !

A new banjo! An RK-R20, along with a case and a sliding capo!

SWCooper - Posted - 12/25/2011:  08:48:34

Picks. Strap. Stainless steel strings (because my Masterclone is just not harsh enough the way it is). Coupla CD's.

None of the tuition DVDs or books I wanted, because they'd apparently would have to ship from the States and wouldn't have gotten here in time.

Which means -- post-Christmas shopping spree!

jethrobodine - Posted - 12/25/2011:  09:16:56

Jim Mills book!!!

fivestringbing - Posted - 12/25/2011:  09:41:36

Today I got a banjo newsletter subscription, a violin style sampson banjo bridge (birch wood), and a snark tuner (I've been going months without one). Does anyone know what direction my bridge goes. It doesn't have a name on it but it does have a little indent in the middle of the bridge and I think that faces the strings but I'm not sure
