I am trying to upload a series of photos Chris Cioffi sent me of work in progress, during his restoration of my Gibson PB/RB-3.
His photo files are marked as "zipped" and "jpg", but the BHO photo unload process on my member page continues to tell me the photos must be compressed and in JPG format.
What mistake am I making?

2 issues - format and size. First, create a folder in Windows explorer - I suggest a subfolder of my pictures by right clicking on the my pictures and selecting new, then giving it your name like "banjo". Now you have a folder to collect your pictures for uploading. If you don't have a zip file program, I use Peazip, and it's free and easy. Once you have a program for this, unzip (extract) your zipped files and tell the program to unzip or extract to my pictures/banjo. Then move the existing jpg pics there as well. Some of the ones in the zip may not be jpg. So I would use Format Factory (free on cnet and a few other sites) and make sure all these pics are going to get formatted in the same manner - jpg.
Now you may have a size issue.
Fastone or Faststone - not sure - has a free photo resizer. I would resize all the photos to a small size for the hangout. Maybe like 2-3 inches high and wide. They should take that. Don't know hangout size limits. Then all pics should upload into your photos from you personal home page under your logged in name on the right of the hangout page.

Nice work thru I needed this ,way back when, i did see a size on the pictures but do not remember any more. The only thing i can add is this. I make so many mistakes i no longer work with the original . I make a extra folder and copy and paste what ever i,m work'in on so i have a back up to start all over again.

Just take it slowly and follow what I said. The free programs like Faststone and Peazip are fairly intuitive and they most likely have a help tab as part of the top menu like most programs. Post a question or two if you get stuck. I subscribed to this so I will see it in email and get back to you.

I placed a classified ad this AM for my Bart Reiter Professional. Six attempts and no success uploading 10 (jpg) pics. It says they are uploading (progress bar) and says they have been uploaded, but they have not. I am not getting any messages as to incorrect format, size, etc. I have uploaded pics here before with no issues. Any thoughts?
Thanks

We're checking into this, because we've had a few members complain of the same problem. I'll keep you posted!

5Twang--you have to upload the photos as separate jpg files. They can't be in a zip file. Give it a try!
