I sure wich someone would turn the heat off in kansas. We are setting records for the earliest 100+ day last month, and then the most in June, and now the most in a row. This has got to stop.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/10/2011:  18:53:47

I have a friend in Kansas and she posted earlier today that it was 112.

Another friend from Arizona said, "Hey, I'm the only one here allowed to complain about 100+ temps!"

1four5 - Posted - 07/10/2011:  19:46:08

Yep, our thermometer was at 112 last time I looked. I've never seen such lazy dogs!

64 F here right now.  cool

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  05:43:15

It's s'posed to get down to about 77 or 76 for a low this evening

OM45GE - Posted - 07/11/2011:  05:51:27

I do like the weather here in New England. We're supposed to get into the 90's with high humidity today and tomorrow then back down into the 70's and 80's with low humidity the rest of the week. Nights get down into the 50's and 60's.

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  06:54:00

it's 83 here with 76% humidity, s'posed to get to 100 or 101 this afternoon

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/11/2011:  07:02:33

The thing I remember about the last time I was in New England is that if you do get a heat wave hardly anyone has AC. When I was there last I think it was mid to upper 90s and there was no AC in the house I was staying in. Not a lot of cross ventilation, either. It was pretty miseably hot at night.

1four5 - Posted - 07/11/2011:  07:50:30

We drink a lot of lemonade

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  08:45:48

we strip nakkid and drink a beer

I was invited to a group on FB. It was a secret group and a lot of the people in the group were nudists, so there were always pictures being posted of the members naked. Personally I'm more comfortable with my clothes on.

I also have to question the wisdom of posting nude pictures on FB, even in a "secret" group.

I finally left the group yesterday because it was getting too weird for me.

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  10:10:36

I joke about it, but if I'm out of the house, I have clothes on, I don't even wear shorts outside the house. I do have a pair of swimmin' britches that I cut off the legs of an old pair of carhart overalls that I swim, my bride always shakes her head and the kids don't like them, but I've had them since 1990, they have a few patches on them, and patches on patches, but I like swimming in them, 'specially when we go to Arkansas, everybody we see thinks I'm a local around there

1four5 - Posted - 07/11/2011:  10:25:59

Nudity would have been ok... oh...about 30 years ago... but... there comes a time where it becomes counterproductive. And how come it's never the hot beach bods that are into it? Seems like it's always the ones that need to keep their clothes on the worst...

A few weeks ago was National Ride a Bike Naked Day. One of the guys in the group lives up in New Hampshire and he participated. It was like 53 degrees. There were a bunch of pictures and all the ones he was in he looked very, very cold. He said after, "I know it was really cold, but it was something I'd never experienced and I like to do things I've never experienced before."

All I could think is I've never experienced pouring hot tar on my arm but honestly I think I can live a full and happy life without ever experiencing that. And I'll pass on riding my bike in rainy 53 degree weather regardless of whether I'm wearing clothes or not.

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  12:19:39

I don't believe they make a bicycle seat comfortable enough to ride on without a pair of britches

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/11/2011:  12:30:20

He said after "Look at all those pictures and tell me if you'd ever buy a used bicycle...."

dat - Posted - 07/11/2011:  13:58:35

at least buy a new seat before the test drive

1four5 - Posted - 07/11/2011:  16:09:35

All what pictures?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/11/2011:  16:29:51

There were pictures of the ride.

I won't link to them. I suspect they're against BHO policy.

yeah, you can say stuff like "Golly"  and "Gee Wiz"  and nobody even checks it

it's only 85 here so far this morning, about another hour and it'll hit 90 something, then on up to about 102 this afternoon, but on the bright side, it's only 77% humidityapprove

Our extended forcast is for 100+ every day for the next week. I think all the church demoninations in Kansas should put aside their differences and form a mass prayer meeting and pray for cooler weather. And if we could get Obama to reinstate prayer in schools, the school kids could help with this. Maybe if we wouldn't have taken the Ten commandments out of the courthouse, God wouldn't be trying to cook us so bad. Darn liberal polititions...and as for nekid bike riders, they are just a google away;)

See... I told you no one ever checks this thread:)

100 plus 'till the 10th of september, then it'll drop down to the 90's. we have been praying for rain, we need to get everybody praying for it around here

dat - Posted - 07/12/2011:  08:21:40

if he did reinstate prayers in school, they would have to spread a blanket and face the east

We'll soon find out if the Mods follow this thread!

1four5 - Posted - 07/12/2011:  10:08:46

Was it the polititions or the judicial system that took the Ten Commandments out of the schools and courts? And don't worry about the mods, they haven't looked at this thread since before Monica gave Bill a nooner.

dat - Posted - 07/12/2011:  11:03:08

they usually aren't bored enough to check in,   you wouldn't believe the stuff 'Niffer gets away with here

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/12/2011:  11:06:48

Man, you all are going to give me a reputation!

dat - Posted - 07/12/2011:  11:53:58

everybody needs some kind of reputationapprove

dat - Posted - 07/12/2011:  14:21:57

WHOOO HOOOO, WE MADE IT TO 108 HEAT INDEX.

1four5 - Posted - 07/12/2011:  14:50:27

I think we made to that without the index! Riding a bike naked just might not be a bad idea...na, not with my chicken legs...

dat - Posted - 07/12/2011:  15:01:46

we only got to 102 regular temp,  I think I have baked chicken legs

dat - Posted - 07/13/2011:  08:46:34

Good mornin' Ya'll, get outside and sweat

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  09:26:21

I had a doctor's appointment this morning.  When I got to the office I was greeted with, "There's cucumbers down the hall!  Go get some.  They're really nice and firm and fresh."

cool

dat - Posted - 07/13/2011:  09:42:44

You gonna make some pickles?

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  09:46:32

Nah. I'll just eay it as is. Some things are better that way.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  09:48:18

As I was driving back from the doctors I saw this guy walking a greyhound. It was the prettiest color, almost like a butterscotch. I've never seen one that color before.

Actually, it was pretty small. It might have been a whippet.

1four5 - Posted - 07/13/2011:  10:18:02

I wonder if it's what they call a red greyhound. Our fawn female started as a red, but the older she gets, the lighter she gets.

dat - Posted - 07/13/2011:  10:32:15

lighter or greyer

1four5 - Posted - 07/13/2011:  10:50:11

I've only seen two actual grey greyhounds... and they call them blue :)

dat - Posted - 07/13/2011:  11:02:31

I had a black lab a long time ago and I called her Blue.... Wild Wings True Blue was her name not much of a duck dog but she loved to ride in the boat, the lab I got after her was a great dog, he made many many hunting trips in his life. I believe he was why they call dogs mans best friend

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  11:12:57

Hmmm.... I did an image search and the "dark red" color I found was close to what I saw, but darker and redder than the dog I saw. The "red" was too reddish and the fawn is not anywhere as dark.

Dunno.

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  11:15:33

Close to this but not quite as red:

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  12:19:07

That horse is really ugly. I shouldn't have posted that picture. It's kind of making me cringe when I see it.

dat - Posted - 07/13/2011:  13:15:51

did you save some cucumbers for George?

I hope I got your horses name right

Mr. Quimby - Posted - 07/13/2011:  13:19:27

Cucumbers for me!

I can't eat carrots anymore so I'll get him some carrots all for himself.
